11 Things That You Completely Stop Caring About As You Start Getting Older

11 Things That You Completely Stop Caring About As You Start Getting Older

As you turn older, you discover a noticeable change in yourself. You're smarter and wiser. Petty things like your ex dating a new person or your
colleague talking behind your back don’t bother you anymore. All you have on your mind are important things like what to eat for lunch and wondering who dies next on Game of Thrones. Other things can wait. No, seriously.

Don't believe us? Take a look at these things and see if you care.

1. Who wishes you or not on your birthday

Since birthdays aren't a big deal. You stop expecting calls from friends and family. Those ‘HBD’ posts on Facebook irritate you more than they warm your heart.

2. The number of likes on your social media account

And also the number of friends. It won’t matter if you have 100 likes or 1,000 friends on social media. You're more worried about having only one to call at 4 AM in case, you know, you can't sleep.

3. That long strand of grey hair

You don't lose the plot when you see a dazzling strand of silver grey while you're combing your hair. In fact, you're happy to flaunt it.

4. Invitations by friends to hang out on weekends

You're not sad if your friends hang out without you on weekends. FOMO over the trendiest party will fizzle out and you'll actually look forward to spending your weekends in your pyjamas and at home.

5. Who's dating whom

Dating gossip gets boring once you start ageing. You don’t give a rat’s a** if your colleagues are dating, and nor do celebrity hook-ups surprise you. You’re all like ‘oh they are dating?Good for them’.

6. Your weight

After a point of time, you start accepting your body as it is, and become quite comfortable with it. Fads and trends won’t fool you and being healthy becomes your goal - as opposed to losing weight.

7. What others think of you

This is the best change you notice in yourself as you grow up. You won’t care what your colleagues, boss, or friends think of you, as long as you're at peace with yourself.

8. About someone judging you

As teens, adolescents, and even when we're on the verge of being adults, being judged by the people we hung out with was scary. But not anymore. The attitude of –‘this is who I am’ doesn’t allow you to care about who is judging you for your choices. And that's the way it should be.

9. Getting noticed

Gone are the days when we dabbed makeup on our faces and wore the nicest of clothes to get noticed at a happening party. As you grow older, you find doing this is too much effort. Spending so much just to get someone’s phone number is foolish. You are what you are. Take it or leave it.

10. Competition

Competing with neighbours, colleagues, and friends is amateurish as you grow older. Competing with yourself is more important than competing with others.

11. Breakups/people who don’t speak to you

As time passes by, you realise you’re still alive and that so-called painful breakup did not kill you as you thought it would. You survived and it goes to prove just how strong a person you are.
